Financial Institutions Director

Our client, a ratings and risk consulting firm based in New York, NY, is seeking a Director, Financial Institutions to join their growing, successful firm. This position is based in New York, NY. 

About the Job: 

  • Perform credit analysis including, modeling and analysis of bond structures 
  • Help to prepare credit submissions and present transactions to rating committee 
  • Assist in the development and publication of rating methodologies, individual transactions reports, and special topic and market commentaries 


About You: 

  • 7+ years of experience performing credit analysis on Bank credits at a rating agency, buy-side firm, credit research firm, banking firm or other similar roles 
  • Strong Interest and relevant experience in ratings and/or investment banking transactions
  • Experience developing and publishing rating criteria and methodologies and writing articles for publication on individual transactions as well as special topic and market commentaries 
  • Solid transaction analysis skills including modeling and analysis of bond structure, and accounting analysis 
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills 
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with database tools a plus 

Director of Marketing and Communications

Our client, a large global quantitative investment management firm, based in the New York metro area is seeking a sophisticated marketing professional to drive the marketing function, working closely with senior management, both on the investment and distribution side, to lead an integrated marketing strategy for the firm.

 About the Job:

  •  Influence product rationalization and new product offerings
  • Leverage the well-known existing brand to make it even more widely known and regarded
  • Spearhead thought leadership initiatives including white papers, webinars, industry surveys, conference speaking engagements/content and client events
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for content creation
  • Create and execute an integrated marketing program
  • Ensure that marketing programs have quantifiable objectives and measurable results
  • Prepare and manage department budgets and overall spending
  • Oversee and analyze market trends and act to take remedial action based on analysis and feedback
  • Deliver engaging leadership and management
  • Oversee the recruitment of additional team members or external vendors
  • Interact with other groups across the organization, particularly with the distribution and investment teams

About You:

  • 10-15 years of marketing leadership experience focused on financial services with an understanding of the investment management industry
  • Knowledge of both institutional and/or intermediary markets
  • Visionary, strategic and creative with ability to drive an agenda through collaboration
  • Possess a strong sense of how marketing can transform a business
  • Experience in leading and managing a small team
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences and build consensus
  • Experience developing marketing programs and related product offerings that are focused on driving revenue
  • CFA a plus

Director of Financial Reporting

Our client, a globally recognizable entertainment organization, seeks a Director of Financial Reporting. This role oversees the preparation and distribution of financial statements for external use and provides an opportunity to collaborate across the organization to ensure compliance with professional standards, SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines. The ideal candidate will oversee the research of technical accounting issues and be able to manage a variety of tasks. The position provides frequent interaction with senior management.  This position is located in Fairfield County, CT.

About the Job:

  • Supervise the preparation of 10-K, 10-Q, and other SEC required documents in a timely manner
  • Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the external reporting process and the related documentation
  • Prepare quarterly communications with the Company’s Audit Committee
  • Oversee preparation and review of information in support of the annual financial audit and quarterly reviews
  • Point person for the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance effort
  • Point person for the review, preparation and coordination of the Company’s statutory reporting requirements
  • Document policies and procedures surrounding accounting processes
  • Research accounting treatments and prepare accounting memos for transactions and present findings to senior management
  • Ensure accuracy of accounting staff work through detailed reviews, including the Company’s equity and investment transactions 
  • Oversee special projects and analysis for the CFO and Corporate Controller as needed

About You:

  • 7+ years of related experience, including public accounting
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP and SEC regulations regarding financial filing requirements
  • Strong analytical/technical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines under time constraints
  • Demonstrated management experience
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting (Master’s Degree a strong plus)
  • CPA required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • JD Edwards and/or TM1 experience helpful
