A global and rapidly-growing Media and Entertainment company located in Connecticut is seeking a Director of Human Resources.

About the Job:

  • Provide progressive and proactive HR leadership and support to business units, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and governmental regulations

  • Handle HR issues in compliance with relevant legislation

  • Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with employees, vendors, and business partners

  • Manage, implement, and build upon various best-in-class HR programs and initiatives such as new hire orientation, on-boarding, recognition & rewards, performance management, succession planning, and leadership development

  • Work closely with department heads on organizational development

  • Partner with recruiting team to acquire top talent for open positions

  • Accountable for key business metrics and budget items including headcount, compensation, and other HR functional areas

  • Develop innovative HR solutions, always striving to make the company a top employer of choice

  • Effectively manage one or two staff members and work well with other members of the HR team

  • Keep current with company programs, talent, products, and businesses

About You:

  • 8+ years of HR Generalist experience in a corporate environment including at least 2 years in a management capacity partnering with top executives

  • Bachelor degree (HR-related field of study preferred); MBA/MS a plus

  • Entertainment/Media/TV industry experience a plus

  • Able to work flexible hours and travel for business as needed

  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle that can be used for business as needed

  • Hands on experience with HRIS systems

  • International HR experience preferred

  • Demonstrated track record of using good judgment, discretion and absolute integrity

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment regulations

  • Demonstrated strength in handling employee relations and organizational development

Professional Chemistry:

  • Working knowledge of compensation including variable pay plans and incentive programs

  • Strong business acumen with ability to understand business drivers and manage budgets

  • Self-starter who is able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining an appropriate level of detail orientation

  • Positive, can-do attitude and team-player orientation

  • Strong track record of assessing needs, influencing direction, managing change, and delivering effective solutions

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication, listening, and presentation skills
