Our client, one of the world’s leading investment and advisory firms, is seeking a Controller to oversee fund accounting and administration for their open-end core real estate fund. The ideal candidate has 10-15 years financial accounting experience and experience with an open-end core real estate fund. This position is located in New York, NY.

About the Job:

Oversee fund accounting and administration both externally and internally
Manage a team of finance professionals
Oversee work performed by third party fund administrator
Oversee various calculations including IRRs, management fees and Time-Weighted Returns for Funds
Oversee waterfall calculations related distribution and income allocation
Oversee quarterly investor reporting, capital calls, distributions and LP capital statements
Coordinate quarterly reporting and disclosure requests in connection with parent company SEC filings
Coordinate system implementations and documentation surrounding internal control environment
Prepare quarterly reports for general partner and assist with ad-hoc projects
Coordinate the year-end audit process and interact with auditors and third party administrator

About You:

Experience with an open-end core real estate fund is required
10-15 years or more public/private or finance experience is required
Accounting degree – CPA is preferred
Strong technical and computer skills, especially in Excel
Experience and knowledge in accounting systems, including Oracle and Investran
