Asset Backed Securities Analyst

Our client, a rapidly growing financial services consulting and rating firm, is seeking a Commercial/Esoteric Asset Backed Securities (ABS) Credit Analyst with knowledge in sectors such as aviation and other transportation assets, intellectual property, small business loans and other non-traditional asset classes. This position is based in New York, NY.

About the Job:

  • Perform transaction analysis including originator/servicer evaluation, loan pool analysis, modeling and analysis of bond structure, and review of legal structure and documentation
  • Lead transactions with minimal direction.
  • Prepare credit submissions and present transactions to rating committee
  • Develop and publish rating methodologies, individual transactions reports, and special topic and market commentaries
  • Work with surveillance team in monitoring and updating ratings of existing transaction

About You:

  • 2 to 7+ years of experience performing credit analysis on Commercial/Esoteric ABS in a rating agency, buy-side or credit research company or investment bank
  •  Transaction analysis experience must include originator/servicer evaluation, loan pool analysis, modeling and analysis of bond structure, and review of legal structure and documentation
  • Strong technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as work closely with partners in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to travel when required
  • Strong oral and written communications skills

About the Job:

  • Research and analyze Consumer asset-backed securities (ABS) including auto loans, auto lease, dealer floor plan, credit cards, consumer loans and timeshares.
  • Perform transaction analysis including originator/servicer evaluation, loan pool analysis, modeling and analysis of bond structure, and review of legal structure and documentation
  • Lead transactions with minimal direction
  • Prepare credit submissions and present transactions to rating committee

  • Experience writing articles for publication on individual transactions as well as special topic and market commentaries
  • Strong Excel and Intex skills

Analyst, Latin American Credit, NYC

Our client, a large global bank, requires an experienced credit analyst based in NYC to focus on Latin American banking transactions.

About the Job:

  • Manage credit process of a designated portfolio of Latin American assets by analyzing credit risk, preparing detailed credit analysis and credit applications, determining accurate ratings and making recommendations to management
  • Function as a subject expert with regard to particular industries/industry subsectors and maintain most updated knowledge on assigned industries through internal/external sources and direct communication with the borrowers
  • Prescreen proposed transactions to identify critical structural issues and risks, balancing institutional policy with business development needs
  • Handle quantitative work required to structure transactions (including securitizations, etc.)
  • Work as a member of deal team to identify business opportunities
  • Advise Relationship Managers on credit risk issues/terms and conditions to create the best possible deal with a goal of maximizing profit and minimizing credit cost.
  • Attend bank and client meeting when appropriate

About You:

  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Strong quantitative as well as qualitative analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of the economic and political environments of the Latin American countries
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written), and strong writing skills
  • Fluent in Spanish and/or Portuguese language preferred
  • Able to work independently and under pressure
  • Formal credit training and advanced degree
