Mutual Funds Product Development Manager

Our client, a $110 Billion Asset Management Firm is looking for a Product Development Manager to join their Marketing team. The ideal understands financial markets and products, and has strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks. Additionally, the ideal candidate understands the asset management business and investment products across multiple strategies (equity, multi asset class and alternative investments) and investment vehicles (i.e. open-end mutual funds, collective trusts, ETFs).  This is a robust role and involves utilizing multiple databases such as Morningstar Direct, Lipper and eVestment to perform ongoing competitive research, building product presentations and proposals for senior management and managing a product throughout the entire product cycle.  This job is located in the greater NYC/metro area.

About the Job:

  • Partner with Investment Management, Strategy, Distribution and Senior Management to identify, scope and prioritize new product ideas and product enhancements that will evolve and differentiate the company’s products.
  • Monitor industry trends impacting the product line to leverage the firm’s investment capabilities 
  • Develop creative approaches to structuring pooled vehicles, managed accounts and other new products that lend themselves to differentiation and profitability
  • Research and build a comprehensive analysis for new strategies, with particular emphasis on competitive factors, market demand, strategic fit, pricing, operational and business complexity issues
  • Analyze the overall institutional and retail competitive marketplace and industry trends for on-going and ad hoc reporting
  • Work with cross functional teams including representatives from portfolio management, legal, compliance, operations, finance, sales and marketing in executing product initiatives for new and existing products
  • Develop product presentations, proposals and recommendations
  • Maintain various documents and databases for recent product launches and changes, as well as future initiatives
  • Maintain on-going competitor universe reporting for existing strategies 

About You:

  • At least 5 years of experience of relevant product experience 
  • Strong knowledge of the asset management industry both retail and institutional
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with varying priorities 
  • Demonstrated project management experience 
  • BA/BS Degree; MBA or CFA preferred (not required) 
  • Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Morningstar Direct, Lipper, and eVestment  skills

Mutual Funds Marketing Campaigns Manager

Our client, a large global quantitative investment management firm, based in the New York metro area is seeking a sophisticated marketing professional to drive the marketing function, working closely with senior management, both on the investment and distribution side, to lead an integrated marketing strategy for the firm. The Marketing Campaigns Manager will develop content and though leadership across all deliverables working closely with the Senior Investment Writer to ensure consistent content and brand enhancement. 

About the Job:

  • Influence product rationalization and new product offerings
  • Increase brand awareness
  • Spearhead initiatives including white papers, webinars, industry surveys, conference speaking engagements/content and client events

Mutual Funds Channel Marketing Manager

Our client, a leading global asset management firm, is currently seeking a Mutual Funds Channel Marketing Manager to join their team in Stamford, CT. As a key member of the marketing team, the  Channel Marketing  Manager is accountable for developing, managing and executing  marketing initiatives specific to the Retail channel.  This individual will partner with the National Accounts and Sales divisions to identify channel, and firm-specific marketing opportunities.  The ideal candidate understands how to implement initiatives and activities that align with distribution, sales, and retention goals, as well as the longer-term growth strategy. A background in national accounts, channel marketing,  or experience as a wholesaler is a plus. 

About the Job:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Channel National Accounts, Sales and partner firms in the decision-making process
  • Develop, manage & implement strategy; execute marketing activities in the channel including but not limited to:
    • Targeted content and campaigns tailored to Broker-Dealer Relationship Managers, Research Analysts, and Financial Advisors
    • Initiatives; composition of marketing plans with input from various stakeholder groups (deliverables, goals, etc)
  • Oversee projects & manage timelines; through frequent stakeholder updates, team meetings, and by working closely with other areas in marketing (interactive, production, programs, product, etc.)
  • Promote & communicate via channel management meetings, sales calls, and e-mail
  • Use metrics to track goal progress and report of findings

  • Align with the messaging and promotions of key accounts by visiting regularly with account managers and attending conferences (10-20% travel)
  • With the event planning team, spearhead national account conference planning efforts

Requirements:

  • 7+ years experience in marketing, sales or national accounts
  • Experience in channel marketing and MBA is preferred
  • Capital Markets knowledge is required
  • Mix of strategic and tactical ability and collaborative work style
  • Proven ability to set priorities and lead initiatives from inception thru execution
  • Creative thinker and well organized with strong project management skills

RFP Marketing Manager

Our client, a global quantitative investment management firm located in the NY metro area, is seeking an experienced RFP professional with 2-5 years of experience in investment management to become a valuable member of a dynamic and growing marketing team.   • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs)
  • Prepare RFP/RFI/DDQ responses based on information gathered from internal database tools and acquired industry and company knowledge
  • Responsible for reviewing data for accuracy and suitability in addressing questions, proofreading, editing and standardizing proposal text for proper grammar, comprehension, style and overall quality of the delivered document

The ideal candidate must have prior experience overseeing, editing and completing RFPs, request for information (“RFI”), and client due diligence questionnaires (“DDQ”) to cultivate new business opportunities and meet client service requirements.
